Overview

This role acts as the operation gatekeeper and end-to-end project leader for Suzhou Global NPI Launch Site, fully owning safety, quality, schedule and cost performance of all global new product introduction projects to ensure smooth mass production launch

Responsibilities

  1. Project Management Role (60%)
  1. Act as the manufacturing site lead for NPI projects, driving successful product introduction and mass production launch while meeting quality, technical and procedural requirements.
  2. Take overall ownership of cross-site BRT transfer projects to Mexico Plant; coordinate Process and Equipment Engineers to deliver transfer packages.
  3. Identify project and process risks through DFX, DFMEA, PFMEA and other tools; define containment actions and escalate risks when needed.
  4. Monitor project progress, key challenges and operational readiness; report updates regularly to the BRT/NPI stakeholder review board.
  5. Drive completion of phase-gate checklists and cross-functional deliverables to ensure operational readiness.
  6. Capture proto-run issues in build reports and communicate key findings to the project team.
  7. Track open actions by project phase and escalate unresolved items to management as necessary.
  8. Lead or support innovation projects related to product, process, equipment and procedure improvements.
  9. Support ODM projects as needed.

 

  1. Manufacturing Engineering Role (40%)
  1. Review designs for manufacture and assembly in early design phase with engineering team (PDD) and assistant in transition of design prototype into cost efficient process.
  1. Analyze manufacturing processes and recommend improvements to enhance quality, efficiency and cost performance.
  2. Act as the technical leader in at least one assembly process, leading process quality and efficiency improvement during the project stage.
  3. Design process flow and line layout to maximize manufacturing capacity and productivity.
  4. Plan and coordinate manufacturing readiness from prototype builds through production trial runs.
  5. Apply Lean methodology to reduce waste and improve safety, quality, efficiency and effectiveness.
  6. Partner with process and equipment/fixture engineers to define required equipment, fixtures and assembly solutions.

Lead APQP/SQP activities during NPI, with focus on Process FMEA and process controls to support a quality launch.

Qualifications

Skill Sets

  1. Strong systematic thinking, leadership, risk management, technical excellence, communication and collaboration skills.
  2. Ability to manage multiple NPI projects concurrently.
  3. Strong knowledge of DFM/DFA, D/PFMEA, error-proofing and process control methods.
  4. Strong logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  5. Knowledge of lean manufacturing is preferred.
  6. AI Digital Transformation and SAP/MES System Experience is preferred

Qualification Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering;
  2. PMP certification is preferred.
  3. At least 5 years of NPI experience in a manufacturing site.
  4. Strong teamwork and customer-oriented mindset.
  5. Good English communication
