Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Cloud Operations Engineer II to join our Cloud Operations team. This role is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, automating, and improving the reliability of AWS-based SaaS platforms. The ideal candidate excels at incident response, root cause analysis, cloud operations, and automation while maintaining a strong customer focus and operational mindset.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor production environments and proactively identify service degradation, anomalies, and customer-impacting issues.
  • Lead incident triage, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for complex production issues.
  • Correlate logs, metrics, traces, and telemetry across AWS services to quickly isolate and resolve problems.
  • Develop automation and operational tooling to improve reliability, efficiency, and operational maturity.
  • Create and maintain operational runbooks, knowledge articles, and remediation procedures.
  • Support software deployments, production releases, and change management activities.
  • Collaborate with Development, QA, Security, and Infrastructure teams to improve platform stability and reliability.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and critical incident response activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing MTTR and improving service availability.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience supporting cloud-based production environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud-native architectures.
  • Experience troubleshooting distributed applications and customer-facing production incidents.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • AWS CloudWatch Logs Insights, Metrics, Dashboards, and Alarms
    • Amazon RDS and DynamoDB
    • Monitoring, observability, and alerting platforms
    • Incident management and root cause analysis
  • Proficiency in Python and scripting languages such as Bash and/or PowerShell.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS CloudFormation, including creating, maintaining, and troubleshooting Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates.
  • Experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipeline automation, administration, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Git version control and standard Git workflows, including branching, commits, pull requests, and merges.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently drive issues from detection through resolution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating SaaS platforms in AWS.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and release management processes.
  • Familiarity with Blue-Green deployment methodologies.
  • Experience with observability platforms and operational dashboards.
  • Ability to read and troubleshoot application code, including TypeScript-based services.
  • Knowledge of cloud security, compliance, and operational best practices.
