Overview

Reporting to Associate Vice President of East Asia Sales, the Director of Sales will be responsible for developing and executing the sales strategy in Mainland China. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record of driving sales growth, managing teams, and building strong customer relationships in the Mainland China market. The role will lead and mentor the sales, market development, application engineering, and marketing teams, ensuring alignment of sales strategies, goals, and initiatives. 

Responsibilities

Sales Strategy and Planning

  • Developing, implementing and maintaining sales strategy for Mainland China, aligning with the strategic priorities for conferencing, events and content markets and four pillars of Sales Channel Management, Market Development, Marketing and Applications Engineering.
  • Identify market opportunities, industry trends, and customer needs to drive sales growth and achieve revenue targets.
  • Drive market expansion by identifying and penetrating new markets, increasing our customer base, and strengthening our presence in current markets.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Vice President of East Asia Sales and key stakeholders to align sales strategies and goals across the country.

Team Leadership and Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the sales, market development, application engineering, and marketing teams in Mainland China, fostering a high-performing sales culture.
  • Define sales targets and performance metrics for the teams, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure effective execution of sales strategies.
  • Create a world-class associate experience for the team, promoting a growth mindset and empowering individuals to achieve their full potential.

Sales Performance and Revenue Growth

  • Drive the achievement of revenue targets and sales objectives for Mainland China, analyzing sales data, market trends, and customer insights to identify areas for improvement and develop effective sales strategies.
  • Collaborate with the teams to monitor and evaluate sales performance, providing guidance and support where necessary.
  • Launch new products and maximize revenue for existing ones, staying ahead of competitors and meeting evolving customer demands.
  • Drive efficiency through effective resource utilization, optimizing processes for consistency to improve sales performance.
  • Work closely with the demand planner to regularly provide an accurate sales forecast for the region.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Effectively managing customer relationships and developing and maintaining an end-user centric approach to our business as a whole.
  • Understand and exceed the needs of our customers, driving satisfaction and loyalty through key account management and exceptional customer engagement.
  • Regularly analyze customer data and market trends to identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and expanding customer portfolios.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Foster collaboration and communication between the sales, market development, application engineering, marketing teams and other supporting teams in Mainland China, as well as with global and regional teams.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on sales performance, market trends, and business opportunities to the Associate Vice President of East Asia Sales and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Act as a liaison between Mainland China and global/regional teams, ensuring effective information flow, knowledge sharing, sharing of resources, and alignment of strategies for optimal sales outcomes.

Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field. MBA preferred.
  • Proven track record of at least 15 years in sales leadership roles, preferably in the AV or IT industries.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the local market dynamics, customer behavior, and industry trends.
  • Demonstrated success in driving sales growth, achieving revenue targets, and expanding market share.
  • Excellent leadership and managerial skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse sales team.
  • Proven experience in successfully managing organizations and businesses through both favorable and unfavorable market conditions.
  • Strong understanding of multinational corporate environments, with a track record of collaborating with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and operating within a matrix organizational structure.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
  • Results-driven, with a strong business acumen and analytical mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English and Mandarin.
  • Willingness to travel.
