Overview

Under the guidance of the Associate Manager of Maintenance and Automation, you will have the critical role of steering and assessing the performance of the maintenance team. Additionally, you will oversee and approve automation integrations both within and outside the plant.

Responsibilities

  1. Maintenance Area Responsibilities:
    • Design and/or provide guidance for preventive maintenance of equipment.
    • Conduct equipment studies to gathr necessary information for their realease.
    • Define necessary spare parts and consumables for production equipment.
    • Measure department efficiency using Pareto Analysis to quickly identify top issues.
    • Liaise with suppliers to resolve equipment problems.
    • Create operation manuals for both new and existing production equipment.
    • Provide support to production during equipment stoppages.
    • Present weekly reports on downtime and top issues to the department.
    • Measure and develop actions to control department metrics in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including:
      • MTTR (Mean Time To Repair)
      • MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure)
      • MTTA (Mean Time To Attend)
      • OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency)
      • Tiempo de Ciclo
      • Gauge R&R
  • Conduct Training Sessions for department staff.
  • Guide department personnel towards best practices.
  • Form workgroups to quickly resolve issues.
  • Monitor the training progress of each member to support cross-training.
  • Manage staff vacations and cover roles as needed.

2. Automation Area Responsibilities:

  • Receive production equipment and generate technical manuals for operators.
  • Ensure acquired equipment includes all necessary documentation for release:
    • Electrical Diagrams
    • Pneumatic Diagrams
    • Hydraulic Diagrams
    • Mechanical Drawings
    • BOM (Bill of Materials)
    • Spare Parts

  • Conduct training sessions for department personnel on new equipment.
  • Review and modify equipment programming as needed.
  • Propose innovative technology improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments for successful project execution and problem solving.
  • Lead automation projects with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve issues and develop new projects.
  • Manage equipment reception from corporate and follow through all installation steps.
  • Audit prospective automation suppliers.
  • Troubleshoot semi-automatic and automatic equipment issues.
  • Lead multifunctional teams towards achieving "error proofing" of equipment.
  • Lead both internal and external automation projects.
  • Monitor project progress with suppliers and review design stages.
  • Provide support to the maintenance team in case of recurring failures.

Qualifications

  • Completed degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Electronics, Maintenance, Process Engineering, Electromechanics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • More than four years of experience in the field.
  • 80% Proficiency in English.
  • Outstanding mechanical knowledge.
  • Proficient use of measurement instruments.
  • Strong electrical expertise
  • Solid understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Proficiency in operating automated equipment
  • Excellent customer service attitude
