Responsibilities

  1. Monitor FPY (First Pass Yield) and scrap rates for assigned production lines, collaborating with PTS to define corrective and/or improvement plans as needed to meet established goals.
  2. Conduct analyses of rejects, test results, Pareto analysis, trends, etc., to identify root causes and follow up with responsible parties (Production, ME, SE, ATE, SQE, etc.) on opportunities for improvement in FPY and/or scrap rates that are outside targets.
  3. Implement and ensure the correct functioning of quality controls where applicable, including inspections, SPC, quality acceptance criteria, tests, quality alerts, process/product audits, line stoppages, etc., documenting and providing appropriate training.
  4. Supervise adherence to quality systems in production lines and support areas, requiring corrective actions when necessary.
  5. Communicate quality levels of products to relevant parties in a timely manner, as well as improvement opportunities and actions taken to production associates, support departments, and managers.
  6. Actively participate in the problem-solving process for customer complaints, ensuring effective and timely resolution.
  7. Document root cause analyses and significant corrective actions in ETQ, ensuring effective follow-up for closure.
  8. Engage actively and interact effectively with team members during the New Product Introduction process.
  9. Communicate and highlight potential quality risks and improvement opportunities to the problem-solving team.
  10. Efficiently use inspection, measurement, and test equipment, including Close Talk, Sound Room, Vibration Test, Manometers, Tuning, functional tests, Microscope, Vernier, Micrometer, Smartscope, etc., performing correlations when necessary.
  11. Ensure effective tracking, control, and disposition of non-conforming material, conducting stock checks, generating and following up on QNs, providing sorting and rework criteria, and validating reworked material.
  12. Collaborate with the calibration, verification, and preventive maintenance program, as well as the Document Control program.
  13. Participate in the execution of select batches for special condition evaluations and significant process changes, assessing inspection and test results to confirm the impact of such changes.
  14. Supervise and assist the Quality Auditor and/or Quality Technician when assigned.
  15. Perform other activities as required.

Qualifications

  • Completed degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • More than 4 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in manufacturing areas.
  • 85% or higher proficiency in English (experience communicating with clients).
  • Experience in creating and/or monitoring Control Plans.
  • Intermediate level knowledge of 8D methodology.
  • Knowledge of Metrology.
  • Proficiency in SAP for BOM consultation, inventory, QM, etc.
  • Advanced MS Office skills.
  • Experience in process validation, transfers, and/or production line startups.
  • Intermediate level proficiency in PFMEA.
  • Intermediate level understanding of Minitab.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Desirable: Verified training and/or certification as Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
  • Support for Engineers/Technicians.
  • Experience in coordinating a team.
