Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Application Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Cloud Application Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-based applications and services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions and ensure the highest level of performance, reliability, and scalability.

Responsibilities

  • Architect & design cloud applications with a focus on AWS and demonstrate technical cloud architectural knowledge, playing a vital role in the design of cloud products running in 24×7 environments.
  • Create and own the architecture runway for assigned applications.
  • Educate & guide the team on technical aspects of the architecture.
  • Develop POCs and Reference implementations to prove Architecture components.
  • Participate in product planning, SRE, and release planning activities.
  • Work with SRE to setup Cloud application support & observability tooling and site reliability process
  • Develop and enforce quality standards and work with DevOps for tooling required to implement the standards.
  • Work with SRE to Develop the application Run Books.
  • Working with development teams to ensure deployments are completed without incident and with adherence to the proper release procedures with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Validate the proposed component solution design is workable, Supportable, and Operable to meet the required service level.
    Problem Management – support root cause analysis of production issues P1-P4, work with AWS platform and application teams to address remediation.
    Work closely with applications, network, and infrastructure teams to ensure workable application architectures.
  • Provide regular verbal and written communications regarding status, risks, and issues and makes recommendations for remediation or change
  • Partners with Product and development teams to provide estimates and architecture guidelines.
  • Apply standards and research/share best practices.
  • Participate in roadmap reviews and feasibility assessments.
  • Application Ownership – Accountable for the availability, performance, capacity, and maintenance of the technology services in your portfolio
  • People Leadership – Enabling our people for success through regular mentoring, development, and career conversations
  • Knowledge transfer to the on-shore and off-shore teams
  • Responsible for supporting process improvements to improve the stability and performance of the application platform

Qualifications

  • Extensive technical experience either in infrastructure or production management
  • 12+ years of experience in application architecture and 5 + years in Cloud application architecture and infrastructure management
  • Has Led team directly or indirectly.
  • Strong experience with Cloud platforms. AWS is preferred.
  • Knowledge of network products and protocols, including TCP/IP, Firewalls, Load Balancers, and DNS
  • You will be creative and an excellent problem solver
  • High level of analytical skills in an IT environment
  • Articulate, independent and detail-oriented
  • Process, tools, and service level improvement experience
  • Documentation, use of standard tools, SharePoint, and Confluence
