Overview

Under general supervision, the Service Technician II advises and serves by providing in-house technical repair services, training, and information to customers. Diagnoses mechanical, hardware, software and system failures using standard procedures. Performs testing and calibration of repaired products. Assists product development teams in development and reparability of new products.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs Company products, including but not limited to: microphones, headphones, earphones, mixers and wireless systems.
  • Analyzes and troubleshoots to component level.
  • Communicates with customers regarding product repairs.
  • Assists product development teams regarding service related issues, including DFEMA and new product development.
  • Assists in the creation of service manuals.
  • Trains internal and external customers on Company products and systems.
  • Assists with Technical bulletin services.
  • Assists the Applications department with technical support to our customers.
  • Assists in rework activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in electronics, computer engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in product troubleshooting, soldering (lead-free), repair, and calibration, working on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
  • Advanced knowledge of analog and digital electronics theory and operations.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Command Line Interface Protocol, networking (ie: IP addressing, Subnet), standard connections (ie: POE, Ethernet, USB 2.0), and wireless connectivity.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. Bi/multi lingual is a plus.
  • Good computer skills, preferably in Windows environment.
  • Ability to travel worldwide as required.
  • Has substantial understanding of the job, and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks.
  • Ability to work independently, receiving little instruction on daily work, but receiving general instructions on newly introduced assignments.
