Overview

We are seeking a bright and energetic individual to focus on critical software support.

 

The Wireless Software Product Specialist II champions the development of new software solutions for Shure’s Wireless audio ecosystem as the Voice of the Customer (VoC). This ecosystem includes desktop applications, mobile apps, and cloud-based applications and services. You should have the analytical ability to consider Company business needs, customer needs, product design, and Engineering cost/time/risk considerations to make optimal recommendations. You will need to understand the needs of prospective and current end users thoroughly as well as the strengths and weakness of all competitors in the category. You will also work closely with end users, Sales, Engineering, and other stakeholders throughout the Global Marketing and Sales Division to define requirements for new products and ensure that they are met in a timely fashion.

Responsibilities

  • Represents the Global Marketing and Sales Division during product development projects as the Voice of the Customer (VoC) ensuring that product attributes will create a positive end user value proposition
  • Maintains expert knowledge of the worldwide market for competitive products
  • Maintains contact with end users to determine and validate requirements for products, based on competitive offerings and existing Shure products
  • Works with Applications Engineering, Customer and Market Insights, Market Development, Sales, and other stakeholders to synthesize a complete picture of end user needs and pain points
  • Writes detailed functional requirements for product development teams ensuring that the development team has clarity on the measures of success in meeting these requirements. These may include technical specifications if necessary
  • Executes timely Alpha and Beta testing with end users, analyzing findings to determine the appropriate course of action
  • Reviews user documentation and product training materials for accuracy regarding product features, proper usage and expected performance
  • Provides internal training regarding operation, performance, usage environments, and ordering convention on products prior to launch, serving as the product champion at trade exhibitions during launch
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of marketing, product management, or technical support for technical products and continues developing professional expertise
  • Able to use professional concepts and apply company policies/procedures to work on problems/issues of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors
  • Able to exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
  • Audio/Music industry experience preferred
  • Knowledge of audio systems strongly preferred
  • Ability to travel 25%
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent critical listening, analytic, and writing skills
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office software and internal IT systems
