This position is replace for Andy Wang, reports to the functional manager directly. Under minimal supervision and with broad scope of responsibility, the Staff Mechanical Engineer designs and documents mechanical components, products, or systems of the highest levels of complexity. This position focuses on technical leadership and supervision role to the assigned subjects and the assigned functional team.

He or she will mentor and provide guidance to the less experienced engineers within the function. Will take the leadership responsibility to his functional team as assigned to achieve the project deliverables.


  • Develops and oversees highly complex mechanical design, layout, testing, and evaluation of audio products and systems utilizing sound mechanical design fundamentals that meet Company standards.
  • Daily management to the team members.
  • Support department manager to set up APG goals for the team members and support department manager to review APG performance based on HR reviewing cycle.
  • Lead the design activities and take the overall responsibility of the deliverables of the assigned projects.
  • Close collaboration with PM on project planning and implementation.
  • Be the interface and first point of contact for communications with the counterparts and peers in a project team.
  • Take the initiative and leadership to drive decision making.
  • Take the initiative and leadership in trouble shooting and resolving technical problems.
  • Be the stake holder of the functional processes, such as, drawing cross check, design review, data base archive, lessons learnt seminar…
  • Be the coach and trainer to the less experienced engineers.
  • Other specific missions as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related area. Graduated from well recognized university will be priority.
  • 12 years plus related work experience in mechanical engineering, at least 8 years design experience in the R&D environment. 3C consumer electronics product or audio product experience preferred.
  • Good understanding to the modeling and drafting principles and disciplines. Good command to a CAD software.
  • Siemens PLM system NX experience will be priority, experience to PLM system ECTr or similar PLM systems a plus.
  • Familiar with CAE tools and prototyping methods.
  • Proficient in injection molding, die casting, and sheet metal forming using standard methods.
  • Proficient in assembly processes and applications.
  • Familiar with and practical experience on design impacts of EMC/EMI, ESD and product reliability.
  • Good understanding and practical experience on Color, Material and Finish.
  • Good understanding and application experience of Tolerance Analysis and GD&T.
  • Domestic and overseas travels no problem.
