Overview

We have an exciting new position on our Data Governance team. The Senior Data Governance Analyst will be the second teammember of a growing team to help drive data quality, tools and structure to the organization. This Analyst will provide oversight for the use, management, and integrity of the data across its lifecycle with a focus on improving data quality, supporting the overarching Enterprise’s Data Strategy mission and goals. The Analyst will also ensure that corporate data governance processes are followed for their respective subject-areas and domains.

 

This strategic partner will work with business owners, technology architects, developers and product/program managers across other business units including Information Security, Digital, Operations, Marketing, Analytics, Strategy, and HR to execute Data Strategy roadmap.

 

This role can be hybrid from our Niles, IL office or remote in the US. 

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with business process owners, and data custodians to ensure that corporate data governance processes are followed for their respective subject-areas and domains
  • Partner with business owners, technology architects, developers and product/program managers across other business units including Information Security, Digital, Operations, Marketing, Analytics, Strategy, and HR to execute Data Strategy roadmap
  • Data Governance Technology management
  • Onboarding technical and business metadata for centralized repository as part of Data Governance program using Informatica Axon
  • Create business glossary, relationships, policies, workflows and dashboards in Informatica Axon
  • Provide recommendations for improving the overall organization’s data governance and privacy environment and related processes
  • Execute standard onboarding of technical and business metadata into the Informatica EDC and Axon environments, ensuring population of data lineage and linkage between technical and business metadata.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of enterprise metadata standards, guidelines, and processes to ensure quality metadata and support for ongoing data governance.
  • Facilitate discussion with data stakeholders on data governance processes and translate those requirements into Axon workflows.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or computer science or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Expert understanding of information management practices including information lifecycle management and master data management
  • Deep level of understanding of the business requirements that drive data quality, translating those requirements into quality rules and decomposing those rules to properly place their execution in the data flow.
  • Experience in leading a data governance program with specialist knowledge of data governance principles and practices
  • Strong ability to extract information by questioning, active listening, and interviewing
  • An understanding of relevant statutory frameworks applying to data governance such as the CCPA, GDPR
  • Data analysis skills with the capability of identifying data quality issues and correlating those issues with data specifications and quality rules
  • Experience with data governance, master data management, quality, and lineage tools e.g. AXON, EDC is a plus
