In your role as Product Management Specialist, you will champion the development of new DSP products at Shure. You will work closely with customers, Engineering, and the Global Marketing and Sales Division to define requirements for new products and ensure that they are met.  Additionally, you will work to understand the needs of target end users thoroughly as well as the strengths and weakness of all competitors in the category. You will also have the analytical ability to consider Company business needs, customer needs, product design, and Engineering cost/time/risk considerations to make optimal recommendations.

 

This person will be aligned with our IntelliMix Room software! 

Responsibilities

  • Represents the Global Marketing and Sales Division during product development projects as the “voice of the customer” ensuring that product attributes will create a positive end user value proposition.
  • Communicate and prioritize opportunities and features so product development team has clarity on the measures of success in delivering these features.
  • Executes timely Alpha and Beta testing with end users, analyzing findings to determine the appropriate course of action.
  • Reviews user documentation for accuracy regarding product features, proper usage and expected performance.
  • Provides internal training regarding operation, performance, usage environments, and ordering convention on products prior to launch, serving as the product champion at trade exhibitions during launch.
  • Maintains expert knowledge of the worldwide market for competitive products, and maintain contact with end users to validate requirements for products, based on competitive offerings and existing Shure products.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Audio Technology or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with audio systems and software
  • Knowledge of installed AV and/or DSP products strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of enterprise IT systems and Windows OS strongly preferred 
  • Knowledge of marketing, product management, or technical support for technical products and continues developing professional expertise.
  • Able to use professional concepts and apply company policies/procedures to work on problems/issues of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
  • Able to exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Audio/Music industry experience preferred
  • Ability to travel 25%
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent critical listening, analytic, and writing skills
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office software and internal IT systems
