Shure offers a challenging and rewarding summer internship program. The twelve week program is offered to undergraduate students that have completed at least 2 years of college, as well as graduate students. Each intern will receive a competitive salary and students who reside out of Illinois will receive a housing stipend to cover living expenses for hybrid or onsite internships. Applications will be collected, reviewed and selected candidates will be contacted in late fall/early winter.


The Wireless Communications Intern will help develop and implement digital wireless systems under the direction of a senior staff member.


This internship will be 100% remote or a combination of part-time remote/virtual and part-time in office.


In this position you will gain exposure to topics such as:

  • fixed-point arithmetic
  • digital filter design
  • digital modulation
  • forward error correction 

Working as part of a cross-functional development team design and implement cutting edge audio products and technology.


This opportunity requires you to estimate, organize and document development tasks, practice solid design methodologies and procedures, and other duties as assigned.


• Two years of schooling towards a BS/MS degree in Electrical Engineering
• Introductory experience with digital communications (e.g., digital logic, signals and systems, probability)
• Experience using Python programming language
• Introductory experience using VHDL/Verilog and FPGAs
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Quality conscious
