At Shure we’re embarking on a new initiative called WorkPlace Now, where the traditional office environment will evolve into a more flexible one for our Associates.   In your high-visibility role as Senior Manager, Workplace Planning, you will lead the strategy, space planning, design, renovations and oversight of our real estate portfolio and corporate headquarters located within the Americas region. This position will report to the Vice President, Global Facilities based in our U.S. Corporate Headquarters in Niles, IL.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with business units to gather data including staffing plans and business development strategies in order to prepare quarterly, annual and multi-year plans.  Communicate regularly and effectively with multiple levels of leadership regarding space forecasting.
  • Cultivate key relationships with infrastructure support divisions including IT, HR, Finance, Legal, and Security, in order to coordinate service deliveries and improve the overall experience of our internal customers.
  • Make recommendations for all new offices, relocations, expansions and renewals (working in concert with the approved regional real estate service provider) in line with corporate and regional strategy.
  • Negotiate real estate leases and other workplace related agreements to ensure favorable terms, conditions, and pricing for the Company in a timely manner.
  • Track space utilization, identifying trends, patterns and relationships to understand hybrid working patterns to help enable peak performance of the workplace.  Monitor and drive occupancy metrics to target goals.
  • Ensure all workplace solutions fall within the master plan and workplace strategy.
  • Work closely with the Americas Regional Crisis Management Team to implement business continuity and disaster response plans for each location.
  • Prepare the annual operating expense and capital budgets, including periodic forecasting and tracking variances.
  • Provide project management leadership on multiple concurrent projects across the regional portfolio driving towards on time completion within the approved budget.
  • Oversee (and perform, if required) all project pre-construction services, including cost estimating, budgeting, generate scope of work, schedules.
  • Serve as single point of contact to various trades, landlords, and regional service providers (real estate consultants, project managers, architects, etc.).
  • Depending on location, complexity and duration of the project,  either directly manage or manage locally contracted project managers to oversee workplace and real estate related construction and decommissioning projects.
  • Research industry trends and benchmark practices to help inform adjustments to workplace designs and strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required preferably in Real Estate, Project Management, Architecture.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience working in a corporate facilities and real estate environment required.
  • Customer service and solutions oriented
  • Financial, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships communicating confidently and effectively,  within all levels inside  and outside of the organization
  • Excellent oral, written, presentation, organization and planning skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and within a team
  • Capacity to develop a clear understanding of the business needs and processes with skills to translate them into relevant data to recommend direction
  • Understanding of global complexities especially those related to culture and business practices
  • In depth knowledge of all MS Office applications including Power Point, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams
  • AutoCAD experience a must. Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Pro a plus.
  • Experience with IWMS/CAFM systems required
  • Some domestic travel may be required.  On occasion international travel may be required to attend division meetings or manage special projects.
