In your role as Senior Manager, Pro Audio Marketing, you will lead the development and deployment of strategic global marketing programs across various professional audio industries such as Live Sound, Broadcasting, Theater, House of Worship and Sound Reinforcement.

 

In this role, you will work with a variety of cross-functional partners including product management, regional channel marketing, colleagues within Global Marketing, and external agencies to develop marketing & messaging strategies and go-to-market tools in support of product launches and other key initiatives.

 

Responsibilities

  • Orchestrates development of B2B and B2C marketing strategy, messaging and communication campaigns across the key decision makers in the distribution chain for Professional audio applications.
  • Will develop good product knowledge and technical understanding of the solutions developed and offered for your market segments and works with product teams to translate product features into relevant user benefits and define value propositions.
  • Coordinates regional channel marketing teams to understand marketing support needs and define go-to-market initiatives.
  • Works with internal cross-functional teams such as Web, Social Media, Video, Public Relations, Artist Relations and others as needed to ensure coordination of efforts for assigned marketing initiatives.
  • Interfaces with product development teams to manage timing and process for product photography, product specifications, and graphic packaging.
  • Manages outside agencies in the development and execution of marketing assets such as photography, copy, print materials, and other tools.
  • Deploy resources and programs across the spectrum of contemporary marcomms channels, including: support of strategic events (online and offline); digital campaigns; social media assets and campaigns; collateral, white papers and other long-form content.
  • Provides thought leadership around marketing process and innovative marketing methods across web, social media, events, etc. to complement traditional communication platforms.
  • Identifies opportunities to recommend research to better inform partners and inspire marketing communications decisions that are fact based.
  • Ensures the faithful execution of the Shure Brand Guidelines in all communication materials.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or related field. MBA or equivalent is a plus.  
  • 12 years demonstrable experience in the marketing of complex technologies and services into B2B markets, including marketing strategy and high-impact communications with responsibility for results, including costs and methods. Audio related industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years people management experience. Experience managing multiple direct reports, developing their careers and advising them on how to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems.
  • Passion for understanding customers, products and market dynamics.
  • Experience in consumer and professional audio electronics is strongly preferred.
  • Strategic thinker paired with a goal oriented personality and strong technical affinity.
  • Experience with technical product and solution portfolios and ability to translate technical context and make them accessible to different internal and external target groups.
  • Will have a demonstrable track-record in the development of sophisticated content-based programs for building your brand and commercial success.
  • Proven track record of marketing pipeline generation, including managing campaigns from concept to ROI analysis.
  • Speak and write fluent English. Second language a plus (Spanish/French/German).
  • Superior business writing and presentation skills.  Ability to prepare executive-level documents and project confidence when presenting to any audience.
  • Demonstrated ability of working on complex assignments.
  • Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Able to work in a matrixed marketing organization.
  • Confident, consultative personality with strong desire to make meaningful contributions to the business.
  • Digital certifications a plus (i.e., Sales force, Google Analytics, Google Adwords, etc.)
  • Significant experience sourcing and managing external marketing agencies required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead cooperative efforts and facilitate constructive discussion among a wide range of cross-functional partners from multiple cultures and geographies.
  • Strong visual sense with the ability to evaluate graphic layouts for both style and impact. 
  • Ability to work on issues of diverse scope where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives, as well as an understanding of company culture. Requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including understanding of current business trends.
  • Able to establish and assure adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and business activities.
  • Able to interact with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.
  • Demonstrates the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from others, without damaging the relationship.
  • Position will be based on Chicago or London.
  • Some International Travel required.
