As the Senior Director, Data Steward, you will serve as the cross-functional leader for all master data management and strategy across Shure.  You'll be responsible for delivering data solutions by unlocking the significant business value from our master data assets. Reporting to our Chief Financial Officer, our Executive Staff data sponsor, this is the perfect opportunity to drive change for a global technology leader. 


  • Responsible for creating and implementing a data governance structure.
  • Establish an enterprise-wide Master Data Management practice, assisting in defining the vision, goals, and objectives for Shure's data management program.
  • Create and implement common data management processes, data quality standards, data management tools, policies and procedures.
  • Contributes to business case development to help frame, justify, and gain approval for data initiatives.
  • Responsible for the development and ongoing justification of program funding for phased implementation and sustained improvements.
  • Responsible for determining the types and frequency of program information to enable bidirectional stakeholder communication that facilitates continued collaboration.
  • Define and facilitate education of business leaders on master data governance processes and best practices.
  • Ensures all relevant stakeholders are aligned on priorities and the program's implementation and management.
  • Responsible for enhancing the quality, integrity, usability and availability of information, and business planning, analytics, reporting and data management to streamline business processes, improve decision-making, and meet compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize the organization's data governance processes to ensure fitness of data elements, both the content and metadata.
  • Data quality assessment, data remediation and cleansing, data conversion validation, data quality monitoring, development of risk-based performance and regulatory and compliance management (i.e., dashboards), and development and implementation of other business and accounting analytics.
  • Responsible for overseeing the design, development, and operation of the global technology architecture and infrastructure for the organizing, storage, retrieval, processing and analysis of data and information.
  • Develops and implements enterprise data management strategies to collect, store and increase usability and quality of enterprise data from multiple diverse sources.
  • Monitors emerging technologies to identify new opportunities for effective and compliant use of data assets; identify current tools to be retired if obsolete or out of compliance.
  • Analyzes current business practices, processes and procedures as well as identifying future business opportunities for leveraging data storage and retrieval system capabilities.
  • Monitors, tracks, and reports ongoing data quality levels.
  • Lead recruitment and training of Data Governance resources as needed, developing their ability to understand and resolve technical and data policy issues
  • Develop and manage capital and operating budgets and expenses for all data analytics driven efforts
  • Evaluate and recommend vendors and capital requests including identifying required business outcomes
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in data management, data analysis, data quality, business data modeling, and reporting area including five years of management responsibility.
  • Minimum of 5 years people management experience.
  • Experience creating and implementing a successful Master Data Strategy and Governance Model.
  • S/4HANA experience is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of current (eg, HIPAA) and emerging (GDPR) data privacy regulation, and the ability to identify their impact and compliant opportunities meeting business requirement (for example: data architecture, data catalogs, data warehousing, machine learning)
  • Understanding of tools including Informatica PowerCenter, PowerBI, Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog, Informatica Axon Data Governance, Informatica Data Privacy Management, etc.
  • Able to make final decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensures objectives are achieved.
  • Able to participate in corporate development of methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people.
  • Demonstrated ability of working on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth knowledge of the company.
  • Past interaction with executives and/or major customers involving negotiation or efforts to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization.
  • Past experience of having overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and recommending, and implementing change.
  • Ability to work on issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives, as well as an understanding of company culture.
