    Summer 2020


    Shure offers a challenging and rewarding summer internship program. The twelve week program is offered to undergraduate students that have completed at least 2 years of college, as well as graduate students. Each intern will receive a competitive salary and students who reside out of Illinois will receive a housing stipend to cover living expenses. Applications will be collected, reviewed and selected candidates will be contacted in late fall/early winter.


    The Global Compliance Engineering Intern will advise and serve by providing domestic and international regulatory agency product compliance services to Engineering, Manufacturing, and Sales. Intern responsibilities will include:


    • Provide Electromagnetic Compliance (EMC) engineering services 
    • Identify product testing requirements 
    • Perform pre-compliance and compliance testing 
    • Write and maintain EMC test reports and files. 
    • Perform EMC troubleshooting services. 
    • Work with outside test laboratories when testing Shure products. 
    • Perform test facility calibration & maintenance services 
    • Maintain and update inventory of EMC test equipment. 
    • Arrange for periodic calibration and verification of EMC tests. 
    • Perform correlation testing between Shure and outside test labs. 
    • Update and maintain intranet site to communicate global compliance requirements, department processes and project status. 
    • Other duties as assigned.


    • Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Electronics. 
    • Knowledge of measurement equipment (spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, multi-meters, etc.)
    • Soldering (Surface mount and through hole) and assembly skills. 
    • Database computer skills. 
    • Knowledge of acoustics, audio, digital, radio frequency and electromagnetic compatibility principles
