    Summer 2020


    Shure offers a challenging and rewarding summer internship program. The twelve week program is offered to undergraduate students that have completed at least 2 years of college, as well as graduate students. Each intern will receive a competitive salary and students who reside out of Illinois will receive a housing stipend to cover living expenses. Applications will be collected, reviewed and selected candidates will be contacted in late fall/early winter.


    The Environmental Global Compliance Engineering Intern will support activities related to international, environmental, regulatory agency, product compliance.


    • Identify product testing requirements 
    • Perform pre-compliance and compliance environmental testing 
    • Write and maintain test reports and files. 
    • Work with outside test laboratories when testing Shure products. 
    • Perform test equipment calibration & maintenance services 
    • Update and maintain intranet site to communicate global compliance requirements, department processes and project status. 
    • Other duties as assigned.


    • Pursuing a Bachelors Degree in one of the following:
      • Environmental, Chemical, or Materials Engineering
      • Chemistry
      • Environmental Science (with coursework in above mentioned disciplines)
      • Public Health - Environmental and Occupational Health, with a strong chemistry background
    • Attention to detail
    • Understanding and implementation of standard lab practices
      • Basic lab etiquette and cleanliness
      • Familiarity and adherence to SDS
      • Clear and concise lab reports
    • Research
    • Inquisitive
    • Assembly and disassembly skills, particularly for small objects
    • Strong analytical and problem solving
    • Database and computer skills
    • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate concepts to those with different backgrounds
    • Environmental Law coursework is a plus
    • Professional lab experience is a plus
