    Summer 2020


    Shure offers a challenging and rewarding summer internship program. The twelve week program is offered to undergraduate students that have completed at least 2 years of college, as well as graduate students. Each intern will receive a competitive salary and students who reside out of Illinois will receive a housing stipend to cover living expenses. Applications will be collected, reviewed and selected candidates will be contacted in late fall/early winter.


    As the Power and Control Intern, you will develop, assemble, and evaluate power supply systems used to supply clean energy to audio systems. You’ll learn about battery technology, gain an understanding of wireless charging and its implementation, and research and investigate new and efficient power supply design. You’ll also have the opportunity to plan, document, and communicate experiment and measurement results.


    • Minimum of two years coursework in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power conversion and control systems
    • Basic experience using signal generators, oscilloscopes, current probes, and electronic loads
    • Experience in creating schematics in a CAD system
    • A good understanding of feedback loops and control systems
    • Ability to work individually and in a team environment
    • Strong interest in battery and power conversion
    • An electrical hardware engineer with the ability to program in “C” and “C++” is desired.
