    Shure offers a challenging and rewarding summer internship program. The twelve week program is offered to undergraduate students that have completed at least 2 years of college, as well as graduate students. Each intern will receive a competitive salary and students who reside out of Illinois will receive a housing stipend to cover living expenses. Applications will be collected, reviewed and selected candidates will be contacted in late fall/early winter.

     

    The Corporate Archives Intern will report to the Corporate Librarian/Archivist and will also work with the Corporate Photographer.  The primary projects for this internship include:

    • Ongoing growth and promotion of digital assets for both Corporate Archives and Corporate Photography using Widen Collective
    • Processing and cataloging collection backlog

     

    Other projects may include:

    • Transcription of oral histories
    • Rehousing and reshelving collection materials
    • Processing ongoing donations
    • Assisting with ongoing Corporate Photography projects

    Qualifications

    • Enrolled in a graduate degree program and have completed graduate course work in archival, library, or information management, and/or graduate course work in Museum Studies, Public History, or another related discipline.  
    • Familiarity with audio technology and history preferred, but not required.
    • Basic understanding of archival arrangement and description
    • Familiarity with a DSLR camera
    • Skilled with computers and databases, including some experience with Photoshop
    • Detail oriented
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
    • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
