  • Overview

    Under minimal supervision, the Security Engineer will assist in execution of Shure’s IT Security Roadmap and all aspects of security across IT projects and technologies. This position requires excellent understanding of information security concepts, protocols, tools and industry best practices. It also requires understanding of project management principles and methodologies, leveraging strong problem-solving and prioritization skills.

    Responsibilities

    • Executes security controls, defenses and countermeasures to intercept and prevent internal or external attacks or attempts to infiltrate company email, data, e-commerce and web-based systems.
    • Maintains hardware, software and network security solutions.
    • Administers cybersecurity policies to control physical and virtual access to systems.
    • Performs network security audits and testing and evaluates system security configurations to ensure efficacy and compliance with policies and procedures.
    • Conducts penetration testing and vulnerability assessments of applications, operating systems and/or networks.
    • Responds to cybersecurity breaches, identifies intrusions and isolates, blocks and removes unauthorized access.
    • Researches and evaluates cybersecurity threats and performs root cause analysis.
    • Assists in the creation and implementation of security solutions.
    • Provides information to management regarding impact on the business caused by theft, destruction, alteration or denial of access to information and systems.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.  
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience with progressive responsibilities in IT, with at least 3 years in an information security role.
    • Knowledge of security architecture concepts across a broad IT landscapes involving on-premise, cloud, and SaaS solutions.
    • Experience in execution of security audits, vulnerability assessments and penetration tests.
    • Experience in an environment that includes an enterprise management system (ERP), such as SAP, is preferred.
    • Extensive experience with Cisco security tools and technologies.
    • Able to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data or situations requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
    • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions for difficult assignments and of diverse scope.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work well with others.
    • Strong customer service skills and focus.
    • CISSP and CCNA certifications strongly preferred.
